Community engagement
This project aims to create a new village community in York. We know this is about more than bricks and mortar – it is about people and communities. We therefore want to work with local people to ensure the village is equipped with the spaces, functions, and inspiration to make the village a great place to live.
Firstly, we want to gain feedback and views, not just on the specifics of the planning application, but on themes and ideas for creating community spaces, delivers social value in practice, and even the name of the village. This will support our aim of building a thriving, healthy and sustainable community with wellbeing at its core.
Our commitment is to:
- Engage with communities at the beginning of the project
- Build long-term relationships with people and partners
- Work with people and organisations who really know and care about the communities we are building
- Build diverse, prosperous and sustainable places for people and nature

This is our first public consultation on this project which will deliver a new community village north of Clifton Moor. Please speak with our team from Well North Enterprises who are seeking initial feedback which will inform future engagement with residents and community partners.
